What motorycle safety gear do I need?

Top notch safety gear is a requisite for obvious reasons. We've got high speeds on a course you don't get to preview. Clearly this is a recipe for danger, which is exactly why there is required safety gear. Here's a list of the piece you have to wear.

  • Helmet - A full face M2000 rated or better helmet is required. Motocross-style helmets (with visors and extended chin areas) are common and are allowed as long as they meet the M2000. Older helmets will not pass tech.
  • Boots - Motocross-style boots have to be worn. Work boots, road boots, touring boots, etcetera are not allowed. If the manufacturer doesn't use the word "Motocross" in the description of the boot, then no, it's probably not a motocross boot. We're looking for very beefy ankle protection here.
  • Spine Protection - A variety of solutions work here. A motocross chest and back plate is the minimum. A variety of other equipment, like pressure suits with spine protection, are available and will also pass.

Much more safety equipment exists all of it, in some combination, is worn by some of our competitors. Knee braces, neck protectors, knee and elbow pads, wrist protection... educate yourself on what is available!
