What should I read first?

Let's admit it: rally is complicated. And trust us, we've been working for years to make it simpler. But there's a lot of reading. Here's your guide.

  1. First, read all the 100, 200, and 300 level classes right here in NASA Rally Sport's "Rally University". It answers the most common questions people ask and the most basic topics in very straightforward language.
  2. Read the rules for your car or motorcycle. That's section 3 or 4 of the General Rules and Regulations (GRRs).
  3. Read the Supplemental Regulations for the event you are trying to enter. If they haven't been posted yet, find the copy from last year, to get a feel for the kind of information that's going to be in there.
  4. Read the rules on how rallies operate, sections 1 and 2 of the GRRs. Yes, it's the least sexy part of the rules, but read it anyway. There's a coupon for a free cookie on the last page. ;)
