Event Speed Factor Calculation Details
The goal of speed factors are to determine the ranking, statistically, of the speeds of a set of racers relative to each other. Each racer's speed is compared to the fastest racer of that stage and given a percentage. All of that racer's stages are then averaged.
Refinement 1:
Any stage time that has been manually adjusted is not counted.
Refinement 2:
A variety of stages removed from the calculation. The intent is that a racer has a single stage where they have trouble, whether they stopped to change a tire, spun, or helped pull another racer out, these anomalies are not figured in to the overall speed factor used in reseeds or future start orders.
